Chianti Classico: a youthful classic in a glass jar
The Chianti Classico DOCG from Fattoria di Rignana is a typical representative of the Chianti Classico wine-growing region. This red wine is made from the autochthonous Sangiovese and Canaiolo grape varieties, following the traditional models of Chianti. For many years, Cosimo Gericke, the owner of Fattoria e Villa di Rignana, has used the tried and tested 85% Sangiovese and 15% Canaiolo blend for his Chianti Classico. Of course, the grapes are harvested by hand and then fermented at a controlled temperature of 27°C. The grapes are then fermented at the same time. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks. For the further maturation the still young wine reaches in oak barrels of different sizes and origin. The wine is stored there usually even for longer. The combination of all these factors results in a fruity, easily accessible and very tasty Chianti Classico, which is of course awarded the "Gallo Nero" label. With an alcohol content of at least 12%, this Chianti Classico from Rignana is the perfect accompaniment, not too heavy or dominant.
Organic wine region Panzano: the best conditions for the best wine!
The Fattoria e Villa di Rignana is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine region in Panzano in Chianti, precisely between Florence and Siena. The wine-growing town of Panzano is known far beyond its borders for its top locations for Chianti Classico: for the so-called Conca d’Oro, the golden valley . Year after year, the perfect microclimate conditions ensure the best Sangiovese grapes for the famous Chianti Classico. In recent years Panzano has been described by the international wine press as the organic district of Italy. More than 85% of the total 500 hectares of vineyards in Panzano are certified organic or at least sustainably managed. The Fattoria di Rignana winery of Cosimo Gericke has also been certified organic since 2014.
Fattoria di Rignana: a winery with typical Italian wines
The "Località Rignana" is situated on the edge of the golden valley. On the approximately 14 hectares of vineyards there are Sangiovese and Canaiolo vines, but also international grape varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The Fattoria di Rignana range includes five different wine characters: the fruity Chianti Classico. The expressive Chianti Classico Riserva, pressed from Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc. The elegant Chianti Classico Gran Selezione - a selection of the best Sangiovese grapes from Rignana. A pure Merlot, which completes the wine assortment as super tuscan with the sounding name "Il Riccio". And, last but not least: the fruity, lively Rosato and the fresh and fragrant white wine Bianco. The icing on the cake is the spicy Olio Extra Vergine d’Olivo from their own olive trees.

Fattoria e Villa di Rignana
Die Fattoria e Villa di Rignana liegt im malerischen Panzano mitten im Weinbaugebiet Chianti Classico. Umgeben von 120 Hektar Weinbergen, Gärten und Olivenhainen liegt das Weingut und das dazugehörige Agriturismo im Herzen der Toskana.
Die biologisch zertifizierten Weine werden ausschließlich aus Trauben aus eigener Produktion hergestellt. Verarbeitet wird zum größten Teil die wichtigste Sorte der Toskana: Die Sangiovese. Auch andere Rebsorten kommen zum Einsatz: die Trauben der autochthonen Canaiolo-Rebe sowie die internationalen Rebsorten Merlot und Cabernet Franc.
Der Chianti Classico und der Chianti Classico Riserva sind die beiden Hauptdarsteller im Sortiment von Rignana – typische Weine aus der Toskana. Seit dem Jahr 2013 wird auch ein grandioser Chianti Classico Gran Selezione gekeltert. Frisch und fruchtig präsentiert sich der Rosato.
