Fattoria di Rignana Rosato Toscana IGT
The Rosato: a wine to fall in love with
The Rosato of Rignana could have the motto "celebrating life" because it is so fresh, lively and light - a real delight for the palate. Rosato has recently been made from 100 per cent Sangiovese grapes which are early harvested. Immediately after the harvest, the grapes are pressed, then the juice is placed in a stainless steel vat for 30 days, where the fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 15°C max. The grapes are then pressed and fermented. In the glass, the Rosato captivates with its fruity aroma - depending on the vintage with more or less raspberries, strawberries, cherries or peaches, but without being sweet. Whether as a well chilled aperitif or as a refreshing companion through a warm summer evening - the Rosato of the Fattoria di Rignana is always pleasant in the mouth. This drinking pleasure is also available in a large format since the 2015 vintage - the Rosato can be found in a magnum bottle of 1.5 liter.
The Fattoria di Rignana in Panzano in Chianti
The Fattoria e Villa di Rignana is situated on the outskirts of the village of Panzano, in the heart of Tuscany, on the road between Florence and Siena. And thus, in the very centre of Chianti Classico, which is the oldest wine-growing region in Italy. Only wines from here may be called Chianti Classico and bear the “Gallo Nero”, i.e. the “black cock”, as a seal of quality. The Fattoria di Rignana produces a wide range of excellent wines: from the Chianti Classico to the Chianti Classico Riserva, and, since 2013, the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione and the fruity fresh white wine Bianco, made from 100 % Sangiovese. But also a pure Merlot can be found in the wine assortment, a super tuscan with the sounding name "Il Riccio". This product range is rounded off by a strong, spicy olive oil, which is simply part of every typical Italian meal.
Simply Tuscany, simply organic - simply Rignana!
Fattoria di Rignana has been certified organic winery since 2014. Even before sustainable management has been a priority here. Owner Cosimo Gericke attaches great importance to sustainability. Only in this way, Cosimo is convinced, the wines typical for the region - fresh and easily accessible - could be produced in the best quality. The main focus is on the 14 hectares of native Sangiovese grape variety. On the hills of Rignana there are also some other grape varieties: some Canaiolo, some Cabernet Franc which has been used for the Riserva since the vintage 2012, and of course the Merlot vine for the "Il Riccio". In addition, more than 1,000 olive trees belong to the property - and in between lots of butterflies, fireflies and grills, because even they feel the difference of the organic.
Agriturismo in Rignana: wine, flair and more in the heart of Chianti Classico
Anyone who believes that all this is too beautiful to be true can feel himself the beauty and energy of the "Rignana power place", as owner Cosimo Gericke always describes it. The agriturismo Fattoria e Villa di Rignana invites you to spend your holidays in the heart of Tuscany with its tastefully furnished rooms and rooms in the typical Tuscan style. You can spend the best days of the year here, lying along the infinity pool, with a book in one hand and a glass of red wine in the other. And if you dream of getting married in Tuscany, you are in the right place here in the golden valley - the house’s own chapel is right next to the villa, and under the shady trees you can dine and later celebrate the most beautiful day of your life until the morning hours. What more could you wish?

Tasting notes by vintage of Fattoria di Rignana wines
2015 Fattoria di Rignana Rosato
Salmon colours in the glass. The first impression in the nose: fruity aromas reminiscent of ripe strawberries, peaches, raspberries, grapefruit and bananas, with a touch of light spice. Then at the first sip: again these fruit aromas, soft and fresh at the same time, super drinking pleasure, lively. Due to the direct pressing and lack of biological acid degradation, this Rosato shows a wonderful acidity. Fruit sweetness, acidity and tannins are well balanced. There's a lot of "joie de vivre" in the glass. And now also available in a Magnum bottle, a family format!
2014 Fattoria di Rignana Rosato
Attracting colour in the glass, according to the principle: the eye drinks first. In the nose: aromas of citrus fruits, peach, raspberries and some strawberries, light exoticism and delicate spice. The drinking flow brings back these fruity aromas, coupled with a lively acidity and well-balanced fruit sweetness. Light and digestible. Oh, what a fun!
2013 Fattoria di Rignana Rosato
In the nose reveals a colourful basket of fruits: raspberries, wild strawberries, vineyard peach, green bananas, pineapple, lychee, lemon. Floral notes of white meadow flowers. And in the mouth like a colorful fruit salad, fruity, exotic, fresh and mineral. A good structure with a striking acidity, animating, with delicate spice makes this rosato from Chianti a friendly companion during the summer.
