This Rosato of one hundred per cent Sangiovese is wonderful lively and fruity thanks to its fine acidity and minerality. Simply wonderful before, during and after the meal!
Rosato Toscana IGT from Le Cinciole
The Toscana Rosato from one hundred per cent Sangiovese
In addition to the excellent red wines, Le Cinciole also has a Rosato in its range. What distinguishes this Rosato from many other comparable wines of the region is the fact that it is made in Le Cinciole from one hundred per cent Sangiovese grapes. The grapes are in contact with the must for about 12 hours, then the must is vinified further - the same procedure is used as for the white wine. The fermentation takes place at max. 15 degrees - just like the ripening - in stainless steel tanks. At the end the Rosato is bottled in the spring after the harvest, when the moon is waning, before summer begins. The result is Rosato Toscana IGT, a light teezing summer wine with a fruity, fresh taste and a sharp acidity that makes a perfect "palate preparation" for a dinner with friends.
Podere Le Cinciole: viticulture in Tuscany in harmony with nature
Living in harmony with nature and creating a cycle with the environment is both a challenge and an attitude to life. This is the challenge that Valeria and Luca Orsini are facing with their winery Podere Le Cinciole, located in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine region on the edge of the small medieval village of Panzano. In 1991 they took over the property and since then they have been considered pioneers in organic farming in Panzano in Chianti. The company has been certified organic since 2002. At the same time, Valeria and Luca are always open to the use of new technologies, which in turn help to provide the vines with the best possible care and, as a result, to produce the best wines. The estate, which belongs to Le Cinciole, covers thirty hectares, eleven of which are vineyards and five olive groves.
From red wine to rosato: Sangiovese plays the first violin here
A total of six wines and one olive oil can be found in the Le Cinciole range. The main focus of Valeria and Luca is clearly on Sangiovese, the autochthonous grape variety of Tuscany. First and foremost, of course, the Chianti Classico - 100 per cent Sangiovese. Then there is the Riserva with the name Aluigi - also a pure Sangiovese. The top wine of the house is undoubtedly the Petresco - also 100 per cent from Sangiovese. For this wine the absolute top grapes of Valeria and Luca are selected by hand. And rather unusual: the fresh Rosato from Le Cinciole is also made exclusively from the classic Chianti grape. The international varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah are used for the powerful Camalaione. The Cinciorosso, the "little brother" of Camalaione, contains 70% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Syrah and 5% Merlot grapes. The common thing between all wines is that they are all 100% organic. With the olive oil everything is in the "green range" too: the fruity Olio Extra Vergine is also organic and it is a never missing component of each genuine Tuscan meal.
Organically certified since 2002 - and even on holiday everything is organic…
When Valeria and Luca took over Le Cinciole as wine career changers, it quickly became clear to them that chemicals and pesticides had to be removed. Because if you have to wear a full body suit in order to be able to "treat" the vines undamaged, how can that be good for the plants and later for the wine? That was the triggering moment for Le Cinciole to switch to organic. In addition, the electricity needed in Le Cinciole is produced thanks to solar panels that are always aligned with the course of the sun. Between the rows of vines, specific plants are planted that maintain the biological balance in the vineyard. All organic waste is collected and conscientiously composted and thus returned into the large cycle. And, in Le Cinciole, you can also spend your holiday in an excellent way and of course completely organic. Two lovingly furnished apartments for four people each, situated in the middle of the vineyards, await wine and Tuscany lovers. A magnificent pool, small, cosy terraces, barbecue areas and incomparable views make your holiday an unforgettable experience.
