Five questions for Cosimo Gericke

In the heart of Chianti, just a few minutes' drive from the center of Panzano in Chianti, you will find Cosimo Gericke's Fattoria di Rignana. A winery with traditional red wines from the region and a Rosato and a pure Merlot, but also a tasteful place to relax, unwind and celebrate. 

The wines at Rignana are made exclusively from the estate's own grapes, certified organic from the 2014 harvest. The main grape variety is Tuscany's flagship variety, Sangiovese, but other indigenous and international varieties are also used: Canaiolo, Merlot and, most recently, Cabernet Franc. An extra virgin olive oil is also produced here.

Nina: Dear Cosimo, what sign of the zodiac were you born under?
Cosimo: Capricorn

Nina: What do you do when you're not busy with Rignana? Cosimo: I like to go hunting, I travel a lot, preferably for hunting, and I love classical music. An evening, after a busy day, a glass of wine before dinner and classical music, that makes me happy.

Nina: What do you think is important for a good wine?

Nina: Which wine reflects your personality?
Cosimo: I think Chianti Classico suits me well - I don't like shows - but the joie de vivre that Chianti Classico embodies.
