Cinciorosso Toscana IGT from Le Cinciole
The little birdie, the red one for "chirping"
On the label of the Cinciorosso Toscana IGT there is a little bird drawn by hand - which suggests the assumption that the "little one" from the house of Le Cinciole - quite casually formulated - is excellently suited for "chirping". The Cinciorosso contains mainly Sangiovese, the autochthonous grape variety of Tuscany par excellence. In addition to the 70 per cent Sangiovese, there are 15 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 per cent Syrah and 5 per cent Merlot. The name "the little one" is also very appropriate because the grapes for the Cinciorosso all come from the youngest vines of Le Cinciole, which have just begun to bear. The Cinciorosso is vinified and matured in cement tanks. All in all, Cinciorosso Toscana IGT is a fruity, light red wine with fine acidity and rich bouquet, delicate tannins and lasting finish. Ideally lightly chilled in summer - or simply a glass during cooking. Just like that, because it is funny.
Podere Le Cinciole: an organic vineyard in Chianti Classico
Le Cinciole is a beautiful Tuscan estate located near the medieval village of Panzano in Chianti. It covers an area of 30 hectares. Traditional viticulture and olive-growing are the focal points of the company, which is managed with great commitment by its owners Valeria and Luca Orsini. At present, about eleven hectares are used at Le Cinciole for the cultivation of wine. On an area of five hectares about 1,000 olive trees grow - from which, by the way, an excellent Olio Extra Vergine is produced. The declared aim of the Orsinis is to create in all their activities a combination of quality, tradition and landscape that is in harmony with nature. In addition, the two winegrowers have chosen to focus their attention on Sangiovese, Tuscany’s leading autochthonous variety, because they are deeply convinced that this autochthonous grape variety best reflects the unmistakable terroir of Panzano.
Whether Sangiovese or Syrah: always 100 per cent Panzano in the glass!
In addition to Sangiovese, Le Cinciole also grows international grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah - but less than Sangiovese. The international grape varieties are only used for two of the six wines from Le Cinciole: the 70 per cent Sangiovese grapes used for the Cinciorosso Toscana IGT are joined by 15 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 per cent Syrah and 5 per cent Merlot. The Camalaione is made exclusively from international grape varieties: 70 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon, 15 per cent Syrah and 15 per cent Merlot. The other four wines in Le Cinciole’s range are made exclusively from the Sangiovese grape: all of them, the light Le Cinciole Chianti Classico, the strong Aluigi Chianti Classico Riserva and the top wine of the house, the Petresco, are made 100% from Sangiovese. Rosato is also made at Le Cinciole from the classic "Chianti" grape. By the way Luca Orsini is convinced that the sound of "Radio Classico Toscana" in the cellar with the wine barrels will give the wine a lively note.
Holiday in Chianti Classico, holiday at the winery, holiday in paradise…
When Valeria and Luca Orsini bought Le Cinciole in 1991, they were real career changers. Over the years they have invested a lot of time, energy and money in the renovation of the vineyards and the agritourism brought in. Two lovingly furnished apartments for four people each await holiday lovers and wine lovers in the vineyards of Le Cinciole: from the two apartments you can enjoy the direct view of the old houses and towers of Panzano. The pool, lined with shady olive trees, invites you to dream and enjoy, while the view wanders over vineyards and woods - preferably with a glass of wine in your hand… And the most beautiful excursion destinations of Tuscany, Siena, Florence and of course Panzano are only a stone’s throw away - these are the perfect conditions for an unforgettable dream holiday.

What other people think about 2013 Cinciorosso Toscana Rosso IGT from Le Cinciole ...
Gambero Rosso | |
Slow Wine | |
Jancis Robinson | 16 points "Panzano estate. Their young Sangiovese vines go into this. Very fresh and positive with good fruity core." (WS) |
