Olio Extra Vergine di Oliva from Le Cinciole
It is so green when Italy’s olives ripen
Olives and their precious oil are among the oldest human foodstuffs, along with grapes, and are an indispensable part of Italian cuisine. Olio Extra Vergine di Oliva is produced at Le Cinciole from the fruits of the Frantoio, Moraiolo, Corregiolo and Leccino varieties. These trees all grow directly in Le Cinciole and are of course organically farmed. The olives are harvested with great care by hand. Within 48 hours they arrive at the mill, where they are of course cold pressed. The oil is naturally filtered through cotton. The result is a tasteful fruity, elegant oil with a lot of spice and character - and of course very, very green.
Podere Le Cinciole: an exemplary organic vineyard in Chianti Classico
A life in harmony with nature is the challenge that Valeria and Luca Orsini, the owners of Le Cinciole, have been facing since the early 1990s. This is one of the reasons why the winery has been certified organic since 2002. Valeria and Luca understand "organic" as a cycle of the nature. In other words, what is in Le Cinciole remains in Le Cinciole - with the exception of the wines and oil which are sold as a final product. All organic waste is recycled on the large compost. The electricity needed for the work in the vineyard, for the guests or in the wine cellar at Le Cinciole is generated by solar panels. Of course no pesticides are used - roses act as a "mildew early warning system" and herbs, cereals and flowers between the rows of vines ensure the ecological balance in the vineyard and the olive groves. And they also ensured the return of butterflies and fireflies. In addition, the condition of the vines is monitored by sensors. If there is a problem, immediate action can be taken. The result: the vines are optimally supplied and ultimately deliver the best possible quality.
A wine assortment of a highest quality and with the Panzano-Plus
Six wines can be found in the Le Cinciole range. On the slopes of the winery, besides the leading variety of Tuscany - the Sangiovese grape - the international grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grow, albeit to a much lesser extent. First of all, of course, there is the Chianti Classico - 100 per cent Sangiovese. Then the Riserva with the name Aluigi - also a pure Sangiovese. And also in the Petresco, the top wine of the house: only Sangiovese! And the fresh Rosato is produced in Le Cinciole exclusively from Sangiovese. The international varieties are used for the mighty Camalaione - 70 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon, 15 per cent Syrah and 15 per cent Merlot. The Cinciorosso, the "little brother" of Camalaione, contains 70 per cent Sangiovese, 15 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 per cent Syrah and 5 per cent Merlot grapes. The common thing for all wines is that they are all 100% organic. And they all carry the unmistakable terroir of Panzano in Chianti within them.
Holidays in the organic paradise - with wine accompaniment…
In the last 20 years, Valeria and Luca Orsini, the owners of Le Cinciole, have succeeded in building up an exemplary winery in the middle of what is probably the most famous wine region in the world - Chianti Classico. And even more, Le Cinciole is also an excellent place to spend your holidays. Two apartments are awaiting for holiday lovers and wine lovers. The two apartments with the resounding names Ginestra and Corbezzolo are lovingly furnished and are suitable for four people each. Here you can spend your holiday amidst organically managed vineyards - even the electricity for the apartment comes from their own solar system. The view from the window wanders over the medieval houses and towers of Panzano in Chianti. And by the pool: vineyards and forests as far as the eye can see. And when the evening comes, the fireflies stagger through the warm summer nights. And for all those interested in culture: even the most beautiful excursion destinations in Tuscany - Castellina, Siena or Florence - are just a few kilometres away. The perfect conditions for a perfect holiday!
